How alive are the hills?

We have our next two weekends planned out.  First, we'll be between Salzburg and Munich checking out the Bavarian hills on the border between Germany and Austria.  Second, we'll be back in Belgium to get a look at the flower display held for one week every two years in Brussels.  In both cases, we'll be camping and bringing the dog with us.

We're pretty excited for several reasons: bringing the dog with us on a trip for the first time in Europe, camping for the first time in Europe, and having our first trip being mostly if not all hiking and outdoorsy stuff. One thing we plan on seeing is the "Ice Chapel" in Nationalpark Berechtesgaden.  The crazy thing that I am curious about is that the moutains there are snow-capped.  I don't think I've ever hiked through several tens of degrees difference in a few hours.  We fully expect a lot of GORGEOUS scenery.

I'll keep you posted on any developments to come.  One of the many differences in camping in Europe versus America is that there is WiFi at all of the sites.  If all goes well, I may be able to blog each day we are there!

That doesn't sound like any camping that I know of.

We went from 90 degrees to 35 degrees when we went to the top of Pikes Peak, but you were about 5 years old, so maybe you don't remember. You and I raced from the car to the railing to look down the mountain...and raced back because we were freezing in our shorts and t-shirts. :) Fun memories. I hope your trip this weekend isn't that cold.
