The unique perspective of a civilian husband's life with an U.S. Army JA officer wife. I'll bet you don't know many either.

Ready or another round of lunch
Today was busier than I anticipated.
The morning walk was neat and mysterious. Lots of fog with the winter scene. I took pictures. It's one of the many reasons why I like living by body of water.
Even neater to know is that 2 hours later, all of the fog and clouds had left. Talk about nature not waiting around if you aren't ready.
Work was same old same old. I got 30 copies of orders made (and probably should make more than that), copies of my passport pictures, (hopefully) finished the transfer of one of my stray retirement accounts, got yelled at by a neighbor whom I've never met regarding the dog, got the news about transporting the dog from my wife (more on that later), and have a house inspection by the bank tomorrow.
I accidentally CC'd an email to my wife's future colleague. That was politely unappreciated. She did, however, take care of the situation very quickly. I will be extremely careful about sending future emails with a .mil in the address, if I send anymore at all. The last thing I want to do is create problems.
I'll need to jot down a lot of dates on my calendar as there are many things that are happening at certain times from here on out. The organization will help me figure out the best way for me to go. Transporting the car ASAP is still foremost on my mind. I may ask to borrow one of my parents' vehicles afterward. Either way, it looks like I have another multi-day road trip in my very near future. I'll bring the laptop along and update you with travel on the road. That would be a first for me. I might even try mobile blogging. We'll see what's the most convenient.
Lots of news from the Georgia Front. The air transportation has recently changed for the army, and my wife, myself, and the dog will no longer be able to all be on the same flight out to Germany:( One alternative is for my wife to go first and then the dog and I will travel through the military on the 17th of April...10 days later than my original latest time frame date I had envisioned, and 3 weeks later than my anticipation. Another alternative would be to ship the dog afterward on a different flight for a $600+ additional charge. We are hesitant to consider that second option for several reasons. So far, it seems that she will be flying out on the 26th of March, however the tickets have not been booked yet.
Her rifle training went very well. If her rifle had not jammed twice forcing her to lose time and two rounds during her test, she might have been able to get the highest rating possible. She was very happy that she did not finish last or near last for a test for once. Shooting at the farm paid off! She helped console a few classmates who failed the test and helped one take the test again.
She did indeed have night tracer bullet training last night. She had hoped that they would have trained with moving targets, but it was sadly not to be.
I believe rifle training is now over. Next up is either sleeping under the stars or further night training. I'll find out which soon enough.
